The most active place for Buddhism religion in Shanghai

1700 year old Pagoda, with 40 meters the tallest building till 20st century skyscapers got built

We had really good weather this day (it was just 5 times that we had blue sky AND sun till I am here!) and decided to visit one of the oldest and most important temple buildings of Shanghai: Lots of monks get educated and trained here. The site contains several temple buildings, chapels and religious figures around. In the courts between people can light their incenses (Räucherstäbchen) or other sacrifices. We have been one of the rare foreign visitors in the temple.

With visitors (also the locals) the monks make lot of money – everybody has to pay an entry fee (about 1,5 EUR), people bring offerings to the figures and in front of the most important figures additionally offertory boxes are installed – and of course Chinese cannot pass these boxes without donating at least a little amount…

    1. Hallo, ist die Buddha-Statue aus echtem Gold?
Schaut alles relativ sehr teuer aus!
